Our thought of the week is from the one and only Napoleon Hill, Author of the iconic book Think and grow rich: “Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit.”
We all know it’s less painful to just skip past a failure, bury the evidence and do as if nothing happened. Moving straight on to the next task, project or goal you’re chasing means you are prone to repeating the same mistakes and much less likely to avoid them in the future. Only the courageous can look failure in the eye and deal with what is reflected in that mirror of truth.
Failure is the greatest teacher, to ignore her lessons is to throw away the great opportunities for personal growth and the fertile ground for innovative and revolutionary thinking.
At UEC, we embrace every failure, misstep, mistake, missed opportunity, suboptimal result as a lesson to learn what and why something did not or was not done as it should have been. It’s challenging and forces us all to reassess our individual contributions and responsibilities as a team to improve, one percent at a time.
